Purchased 45 acres surrounded by hundreds of acres of woods.

Very private, quiet, lots of trails and roads to run our malamutes (sled dogs).

Built our house in 2010.

Around 2012 we heard about the wind turbine project, didn’t care. We were ignorant (uneducated) towards them and didn’t think it was a big deal.

Hand outs  and environmental assessments (EA) <link this> said we have no visuals, no shadow flicker, and were on the outer band of sound <link to EA, clips>. Turbines are approximately 1 to 1.5 kilometers away depending on which turbine you measure to.

Around late 2014 turbines become active, immediately apparent the EA was wrong. We had visuals, we had shadow flicker, and noise was loud enough to be heard anywhere on the property, inside the house, and disturb sleep.

As of July 2021 we’ve been trying for seven years to get relief through talking with ownership, government officials talking to ownership on our behalf, and trying to get government to do something – all so far has been unsuccessful.

In those seven years I have better educated myself on turbines. This, along with our experience living near them, have lead me to the conclusion that they are a very poor source of energy and not the environmental friendly, clean and green solution they are touted to be.

I believe no one should live within 5 kilometers or more of them.
